HYC HANDS IN MOTION
Student Wellness Center
Roosevelt Elementary School, and once High School, has been a part of our Hubbard history since 1920. Many in our community hold fond memories of school years there attending classes, playing games in the gym and running around the playground with friends during recess. To ensure future generations of Hubbard youth have the opportunity to create memories of their own you can be a part of remodeling Roosevelt into a Student Wellness Center.
With the support of the Hubbard Board of Education, HYC, is raising the funds necessary to renovate Roosevelt for expanded use by Hubbard School teams and organizations as well as community youth sports leagues. An additional goal will be to see it used as a community center for Hubbard residents when not in use by our students. The renovations will be completed in phases or in whole based on the timeframe of funds raised through your tax deductible donations.
Multi-sport exercise and practice areas with and without turf
Changing rooms with lockers
Multi-purpose area for coach film sessions and other gatherings
Parent viewing area of practices
Community Gratitude Wall
Phase 2 — Current Fundraising
Anticipated to be the first floor seating area. The renovation will include removal of the existing bleachers and extension of the concrete surface to increase the width of the platform. The increased space will allow the first floor platform to be usable for a functional training area that will include free weights, machines, and treadmills usable for all sports. Overhead doors will also be installed so coaches and athletes can easily access the outdoor space for additional training. As soon as the funds for Phase 2 have been raised we will continue the renovation process and move to working on funding Phase 3. Once started, Phase 2 can be completed in a matter of 1-2 months.
Phase 1 — Goal Reached!
Anticipated to be the second floor balcony areas that are currently closed off and unusable. The renovation will include removal of the existing bleachers and extension of the concrete surface to increase the width of the platforms. The increased space will allow the second floor platforms to be usable for a batting cage on one side and a turfed training area that will be usable for all sports on the other side. As soon as the funds for Phase 1 have been raised we will begin the renovation process and move to working on funding Phase 2. Once started, Phase 1 can be completed in a matter of 1-2 months.
